Sponsor a tree!

This is your chance to sponsor a new tree on the village green. A chance to plant a tree of lasting beauty, which will brighten up the area in the years to come, or perhaps a lasting remembrance of somebody.
Whichever it is, now's the opportunity!

Two of the hawthorn trees on the village green will, unfortunately, have to be replaced.  Our tree surgeon has inspected them and made observations on their condition:-

– One is reaching the end of its life.

– The other has a split trunk, rendering susceptible to damage in strong winds, and potentially dangerous.

Cost?  The price will be determined by the species, and its size (when purchased), however for a good specimen, expect to pay from £75 upto £150.  Some trees are available from around £40.

It is intended to plant these new trees, at the latest, by spring 2026.  Therefore, if you would like to be a sponsor, please contact the Parish Clerk at clerk@aldwincleparishcouncil.gov.uk with details of your proposed tree (species & size) by 31st December 2025, in order that the Parish Council can discuss the proposals at our next meeting on 5th January, 2026.
